Chapter 13 Article 3 Section 9 – Use of fireworks within the city limits.
- It is unlawful to ignite and/or explode fireworks within 300 feet of a church, public school, or where fireworks are stored or sold.
- Fireworks that are shot, burned, ignited, and generated trash must be picked up and properly disposed of.
- Fireworks shooter(s) are responsible for any personal injury or property damaged or destroyed.
- Only Class B fireworks can be used.
- In the event that a “Red Flag” alert is issued, a burn ban is put in place. All igniting/firing of fireworks is to be terminated.
- No guns are to be fired into the air nor any devised contraption that uses gun powder.
Chapter 13 Article 3 Section 10 – Time and Dates for legal uses of fireworks.
- January – Class B fireworks ONLY between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on December 31st and 12:30 a.m. on January 1st.
- Beginning the third (3rd) week in June through the second (2nd) week in July with the daily hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturdays the times will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. (midnight).
- Special event permits may be allowed with the council’s approval.
